We Have A Dog

Yes, we as cat people who never really wanted a dog, have a dog now. Our dog is a female, 11 month old Pitbull mix named Abby. She is very smart, affectionate and behaves great around the kids, which is apparently very typical for Pitbulls. We had no clue what her breed was because we only cared about the Lord’s instructions:

When Anja was praying about a dog, she saw a specific black and white dog in a vision and one day, Anja saw it on the Facebook page of Animal Control Rosarito. Since the dog was still available, we went to the kennel to have a look. Anja saw her and heard, “that’s your dog”. Just a moment later, Chris said, “yep, that’s our dog”.

It has been over a month since then and Abby has been doing great. She has learned a couple of tricks and is not as fearful anymore – especially on our walks. Abby likes people and interacts with other dogs. She doesn’t go bathroom outside of the property, but at least she doing her business in a designated area, which is very nice.

Settling In

We have been in our new home for a month now and we haven’t settled in fully. There are little piles in almost every room with things that need to be stored away somewhere. We are trying to tackle it one step at a time.

One thing that we didn’t know before we moved in is that one of the neighbors likes to listen to his music very loudly and at all hours of the day and night! Sometimes it is nice and quiet when we come home from church and at 4am, the music starts. It makes it difficult sometimes to hear Yuna cry.

We asked the Lord what He wants us to do about it, and we think He wants us to pray for our neighbor and this is what we have been doing. It seems that the volume has gone down a little and the style has gone from heavy metal to rock ballads, but we keep praying.

Church Planting Conference

On August 5-6th, our church held its annual Church Planting Conference for a time of refreshment and inspiration for church planters from Mexico and the US. Since we had babysitters, we could both focus on serving.

In the week of the Church Planting Conference, Chris was asked to train one of the light masters of our Matzatlan church plant. So Chris spent a couple of days instructing him and a couple of local light master about the use of the light controller and the maintenance of the lights themselves.

It seems like that training was only just the beginning. Chris will join our Senior Pastor Mike on a trip to Matzatlan from October 8th-11th to install the light controller and help with the set up of their lights. Let’s see how that goes! Anja has already asked a friend if she would like to help her with the kids during that time so she doesn’t have to be all by herself.

Upcoming Birthdays

Time flies! On October 14th, Yuna will be turning 1! Anja’s birthday will follow shortly after, on October 27th. We don’t know how we want to celebrate these birthdays yet. However, we wanted to let you know in advance in case you would like to congratulate either one of them or send a gift. As usual, there are gift ideas on our Amazon Wishlist. We are not quite done with updating the list yet, but we are at it.
