We Found Our Church

Our new church is called Calvary Chapel Rosarito and it is located about 15 minutes from our home. Their main focus is on teaching the Word of God verse by verse.

In July 2019, we accompanied our friend to the Calvary Chapel Rosarito (CCR). Her son had had a school performance on their premises, which made her curious. Since then we have visited their services regularly. Although we hardly got to know anyone or make contact during this time, we were sure that the Lord wanted us in this church. Therefore, we decided to attend the “Pillars Class”. The six lessons convey the basic values of CCR and their completion is a prerequisite for being able to serve at CCR.

CCR is a large church with around 1,500 regular churchgoers per weekend. The focus of CCR is the Word of God, i.e. the Bible is taught word by word in every service and there are different Bible studies every week – for Spanish-speaking women, for Spanish-speaking men, for English-speaking women, for English-speaking men, for young adults, etc. We find it quite unique that both, children and adults, cover the same subject, i.e. if the sermon is about David and Goliath, so is the children’s program.

What particularly impressed us about CCR is that it is constantly growing. Every week, people give their lives to the Lord and every year, new churches are planted in North and Central America – a total of 24 so far, some of which are now planting churches themselves. However, CCR also cares about its members. For example, it offers new believer’s class in where they teach about the basics of christian faith, courses for couples, courses for people with addictive behavior as well as private counseling and pastoral care for individuals.
