Ministry

Lights Ministry

This month, all of the sudden, a couple of interested people showed up to start their training. Although some of them didn’t show up again, it was nice to see that God is bringing new people in. Two of the new guys that I’m training are really gifted and learn very fast. One of them is a missionary as well and is helping me with the maintenance on the lights. We could already take care of some issues and put up some new lights together.

Sunday School

According to the kids ministry leader, 73 children from the age of 7-12 years old gave their lives to Christ last year! It would be awesome to know how many of those were in our class, but we don’t know. However, last month, in one of Chris’ classes, 6 children wanted to be born again. That’s a new record!

Bilingual Women’s Bible Study

The bible study has been going well and for a while, it was just me leading the worship and making sure we have the table questions and the lyrics on the screen for the ladies to read. This month however, the Lord brought two new helpers.

One of them is a missionary from the United States and she will be my replacement in regards to getting the slides ready when I am on maternity leave. Since there is no one who can lead the worship, the ministry leader asked me if we had recordings from our church worship, which we do. She will play them instead of having live worship.

The other addition to the team is a teenager from our church who can play the cajon. Since she is also playing for the youth group, she won’t be able to support me with the worship every time, but it’s nice to have some percussion every now and then.

Family News

Update Baby #3 – Our baby girl is fine, but apparently on the heavy side. We then went back to compare the birth weight of Ziva and Yuna. Ziva was 8lbs 2.3oz, Yuna was 7lbs 2.64oz. Let’s see how heavy baby #3 will be when she is born. Anja’s baby belly is quite big and people have been asking if the baby will be born in March, which would be 2 month early or if the gynecologist is off with his prediction. Others asked if we are sure that it’s a girl because apparently the shape of the belly is rather for boys (which is what they said for every pregnancy) and other people asked if we are sure it’s just one baby. Well, two gynecologists had a look at the same pregnancy in 2D and 3D and they are in agreement, so…

Kid’s Nail Polish – The girls have always been excited about make-up and so as well about nail polish. However, only ever allow for them to have some bronzer or a bit of eye shadow for special occasions and usually no nail polish because it’s not healthy for their nails. However, we found a non-toxic nail polish online and got it for them. They absolutely loved it! However, they were a bit disappointed to notice that it came off after washing their hands.

Broken Hot Water Pipe – On a Friday afternoon, our neighbor, who is also the property manager, came running over, telling us that water was gushing out of one of our pipes. Upon further inspection it turned out that the hot water pipe had broken. As you can see in the picture, there is a good amount of rust in there. The property manager then called the landlady who came to inspect the damage and organize some to repair the pipe. On Saturday morning, the problem was solved and we were able to enjoy hot showers again.
