That’s New
- Our move went well, but there’s still some unpacking to do. And we need a dog.
- We had to replace the water pump of our car. Thankfully, we were able to get it fixed right away.
- Ziva is 3 years old now! She enjoyed a great party and loves her new toys and clothes.
We Moved!
Chris was supporting the owner’s husband with his renovation projects on the trailer so we could move in by the end of the month. Every time he went there, he took a car load full of belongings to put in the storage shed so we wouldn’t have to move everything at once.
We moved our beds on Wednesday, the 27th. Anja stayed in the trailer with the kids and Chris was in the house, moving everything out and cleaning up. Unfortunately there had been a misunderstanding about our moving day and the trailer had not been cleaned yet. That meant that Anja had to clean area by area so she could start putting our belongings in the living room and the kitchen. Thankfully, the owner came to clean the house later.
We are grateful that some of our friends from church came to help us. It took Chris and his team three days to move everything out of the house and clean it. On Saturday, the 30th, we returned the keys and also immediately received our deposit back. Our trailer is not quite there yet, but it is not time sensitive.

A Broken Water Pump
Chris was on his way to the trailer to help with the renovations, when the car started overheating a loosing a lot of water. He was able to drive to our mechanic. As it turned out, the water pump was rusted through completely and the water was basically just running out. One of our friends picked Chris up, drove our belongings to the trailer and drove him home after that.
The following day, Chris drove to town by bicycle and bought all the pieces needed for the repairs. The mechanic was able to squeeze us in because he knew that we needed our car badly and so Chris could take it home a couple of hours later again.
Ziva Turned 3
Ziva’s birthday party took place on Sunday 24th at church. Anja made a “Happy Birthday Ziva” sign, we baked Zopfs (Swiss bread), one with bacon and one with tomato sauce and cheese and Chris made different kinds of ice cream. Our guests contributed drinks, chips, deviled eggs, bowls, etc. Everyone enjoyed the party, especially Ziva who could not wait to open her presents.
On the 25th Ziva was allowed to open the gifts she received from our family members. We either video chatted with them or recorded how Ziva was opening her presents so they could see her reaction.
Ziva has been enjoying her “big girl” presents a lot. A huge thank you for everyone who contributed to her birthday. Ziva enjoyed her birthday and she loves her presents!
