Afterglow
God has been using us to speak to others during the Afterglow by giving us Bible verses, visions and words for the people we were praying with. Anja is not on the prayer team, but on different occasions people came to her, asking her for prayer or she offered prayer to the people she was talking with. One time, someone was looking for Anja because God had given him a word for her. It was a clear confirmation for what the Lord had already been talking about with Anja. Chris is faithfully helping in the ministry teams and every time God is speaking clearly. One time he felt a bit dry and not ready to serve, but even then the Lord was speaking clearly as always.
Fit 2 Serve
God had told Anja to step back as a coach and it seemed that there would be one or two young women she could train up. Unfortunately, both of them decided that they didn’t feel ready to lead a ministry. Anja then talked with Pastor Mike and it was decided that Fit 2 Serve would go on a six month break to see what God will do during that time.
Lights
Chris was able to finish the light project in the La Mina church plant.

In the meantime, Pastors Mike and Jesus asked Chris to upgrade the light system in the pillars and the youth room and the sanctuary until the beginning of August. Chris has been working on those projects Monday afternoons (since there is no church planting class) and Saturdays. However, there are a lot of conferences on Saturdays, which makes it hard for Chris to work on the lights.
Unfortunately, one of the light masters quit, which means that Chris now has to train up someone new.
Sunday School
During the last months, the Lord has been saving kids in our class – mostly in Chris’ classes. Anja says jokingly that she is preparing them so Chris can do the harvesting. One Wednesday, Anja filled in for another teacher and the topic was Pentecost. Anja was talking about the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gift of tongues. One girl gave her life to Christ and also wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit and at least 5 kids wanted to receive the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues!
Family News
- Chris has been feeling a bit under the weather (dizziness, head aches, sore muscles, tired, back aches) and the Lord told him to go to a Doctor. The doctor told Chris to go to the lab for blood work and a urine test. We are now waiting for the results. Please pray for healing.
- This month, Chris went on a Daddy-daughter date with Ziva and Anja for a Mami-daughter date with Yuna. Chris took Ziva to the movies and Anja took Yuna on a playground and clothes shopping. Since Yuna never said yes to anything, they returned empty handed.
- Next month, we’re going to move (still Rosarito)! The rent will be cheaper and the house bigger. Unlike the other houses we have been living in, the house is not furnished. Fortunately, one of our future neighbors will be able to give us some of his. However, we will have to find a new home for our dog Abby since they only allow small dogs.
