Church Planting Class
We are officially done with the Spring Semester 2023! Anja is done and Chris doesn’t know yet.

Worship Ministry
Recently, Anja was on stage, thinking that she would rather be serving in the prayer team. When she talked to the Lord about that, He seemed to confirm that that was indeed what He wanted her to do. Just a little while later, the pastors asked Anja to drop one of the ministries she has been serving in because they thought it would be too much. Again, she talked to the Lord and He confirmed that it was time to step down form the worship ministry. The last time Anja was on stage was in the beginning of the month.
Fit 2 Serve
For the first time this year, Fit 2 Serve founder Derek Del Rosario came to Mexico with a team and also joined the local Roadshow for a special event. After weeks of barely anyone attending, four locals showed up! Since then, one person has attended every time and because of her, two more have joined. This person also told me that God told her that He wanted her to invite people. Let’s just say, this all came together nicely because the Lord had also told Anja to step back from Fit 2 Serve. With no one coming to the Roadshow and no one there who could continue the work, she had been feeling a bit desperate. Coming from this to having faithful attendees and one person (maybe even two) who is willing to be trained up to be the next leader of Fit 2 Serve is definitely huge. Thank you, Lord! Anja will be training up this (or those) leader(s) and then leave Fit 2 Serve after two years.

Family News
- Chris turned 40! On the 18th, we celebrated Chris’ birthday as a family. We had a pancake breakfast, went to the barber, ate burgers, got a bag full of doughnuts and went home for some down time. For the 21th, Anja organized a surprise party with Chris’ friends at church. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and the presents!
- Ziva has a new friend at church. These two met at Sunday school and seem to get along great. They seemed happy to see each other and were playing together on the playground after Sunday school as well.
- Ziva is now thanking God every day for all the good things He has given. We say it first, she repeats it. Ziva also prayed for Anja’s back twice.
- On the not so nice side, the entire family (except for Chris) got sick. It started with Anja having stomach flu symptoms for two days, then Ziva threw up and was low, then Yuna. After everyone was back to normal, all of us came down with a cold. And if that was not enough, Anja hurt her back when picking up Yuna while sitting on the bed. She could barely walk because her muscles were so tense. We are grateful that everyone is doing better now.
- Samson came home one morning with a swollen eye. He had an eye infection when he first came to us, so we thought that it was just that. On the second day, we decided to put some eye drops in. That’s when Anja saw some white threads sticking out, so we decided to take Samson to the vet. Turned out it was a fox tail! Apparently it is very common that cats get them in their eyes, noses, ears and even between their paws form where they can wander all the way up to their shoulders…! Scary stuff!
That’s how Samson came home The “white threads” The foxtail that was in his eye
- Abby came to the door with a swollen snout the morning Samson had his swollen eye. She probably tried to eat a bee again. Abby didn’t have any trouble breathing, so we just let her heal on her own. Abby also made some new friends. Two dogs that had been rather hostile have decided to join us on our walks and Abby really enjoys it.
Prayer Requests
- health for the family, pets included
- for faithful attendees for Fit 2 Serve
- for the Fit 2 Serve trainee(s) to learn and be ready fast
- for Chris to be able to finish all of his light projects until the end of July
