Lights: Unwanted Disco Effect
One day, out of the blue, our light system started acting up. At first, the flickering mainly manifested when the band was playing. After a while though, it just wouldn’t stop anymore. After a long day of diagnosing, I finally got to the bottom of the problem: One of the light cables was too close to the power cables and that caused all the flickering. After I changed the location of the light cable, the issue was resolved.
Professions of Faith in Sunday School
We don’t have professions of faith every single Sunday, but we do every month. Anja’s highlight was when one boy raised his hand go give his life to the Lord who had been rather disruptive in class and had also been causing minor problems one the playground. The same boy wrote just a bit later as a prayer request that he wanted to feel the love of God. Wow!
Chris’ highlight was the last class of the month. One of the kids had been handing in the same prayer request for months, and that day, she share that God had miraculously answered her prayers. In that same class, four kids professed faith.
Band for Ladies Christmas Event
The worship for the bilingual women’s study has been going well. We had our last regular bible study for the year this month, but we will be having a Christmas celebration in December. For this reason, I created a WhatsApp group with three other ladies so we could sing and play the Christmas songs together as a band. I hope that this will only be the beginning of us worshipping the Lord together.
Family News
- It’s a Girl! Our third baby will also be our third girl. This makes Ziva and Yuna happy too, for that’s what they have been wanting. Now we just need a name. For the next check-up in January, Anja needs to do some bloodwork, a glucose test as well as a structural ultra sound – please pray that everything will be okay.
- Ziva Sick: Poor Ziva was sick for a couple of days. She had been complaining about stomach pain and threw up all over her bed after she had finally fallen asleep… She threw up one more time after that and then gradually got better.
- Thanksgiving With Neighbors: We were invited to spend Thanksgiving with our neighbors and some more friends from church at one of our neighbor’s house. It was a really nice evening. Everyone brought some food and/or drinks and contributed to the celebration. While the men were watching Football, the ladies were gathered around the table chatting and the kids were playing with each other.
- Christmas Decorations: On a Wednesday evening, while Chris and Yuna were at church, Ziva (who was still a bit sick) and Anja were crafting Christmas decorations and drawing stars on the windows using finger paint while listening to Christmas music. Ziva had a blast!
- Crazy Weather: This month, the weather was crazy indeed. The temperatures went up to almost 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) again! Then the temperatures dropped suddenly, it got super windy and we had some rainy days, even one thunder storm. The girls were able to see some lightnings for the first time. However, the strong winds and the thunder seemed to scare them.
