New Servants for the Light Ministry

During October, some newbies came to have a look at the light ministry. Both of them were in their teens and I was looking forward to train them. Unfortunately, both of them quit after sitting in for only one or two times. It’s not the first time this happens. However, I now have another intern to train up and so far, he seems promising. Please pray for faithful trainees.

Anja’s New Ministry

Recently, a pastor’s wife started a bilingual women’s bible study and asked me, if I wanted to be a part of her team. She mentioned different things that I could help her with, but ended up asking me if I could help with the worship. Chris and I prayed about it and we believe that God has opened this door for me.

I was originally supposed to alternate with another lady, but she is currently doing an education and doesn’t have the capacity to lead worship. However, the leader now asked me if I could oversee the worship, which means selecting songs, making sure we have the lyrics on the screen, starting a band, etc. Basically do whatever is needed. I am really happy with this unexpected development. Thank your Lord for this great opportunity!

Family News

  • Car Trouble: In the beginning of the month, Anja was driving home from her workday at church, when she heard and felt something like a little explosion at the back of the car, followed by a clacking, repetitive sound. She pulled over immediately, checking if something was hanging down from the car, but there was nothing. Chris asked some of the neighbors to come and help and they ended up towing the car back to our place, clacking noise still audible. As it turned out, a part of the transmission broke off, which meant that the entire back axle had to be replaced. The mechanic was able to find a good replacement on a junk yard, but it wasn’t cheap. We had to wait to the end of the month to be able to afford to fix the car. During that time, our neighbors gave us rides and one of them lent us their car in between. For the last week and a bit, Pastor Mike lent us his car. We are very grateful for all the help we received during that time.
  • Ziva Without Bib: Ziva has been doing a great job eating without getting her bib dirty, so we decided to let her eat without it. She now also has to carry her plates, bowls, cups and cutlery to the sink when she is done and wash her hands. Another benefit is that Yuna can now use Ziva’s old bibs. Yuna’s bibs were getting a little small…
  • Yuna is 2!: Unbelievable, but our little girl is now two years old! It seems like Yuna was born just yesterday and now she is potty trained, talks, climbs around the playground on her own, walks stairs up and down, colors, etc. She is a very smart girl and sometimes it seems, like she is thinking a bit too much, and she is trying to help you before you can even think about it. Despite Yuna being an early bird, she can just lie next to you in bed, waiting up to an hour until you are ready to finally get up. She is a true mommy’s girl and a real snuggle bug. We love her so much!
